On April 21st, the BCCTC held an insightful event on practical strategies for building AI readiness in business. Hosted in partnership with Fractional Execs Canada, the event included a presentation on embracing expert-led AI to move beyond the hype and deliver growth.
Alex Marr, CEO and Co-Founder of Fractional Execs Canada, explained how Fractional Execs embed within SME teams to drive strategy and execution through continuous collaboration. Role-specific Frac Execs level the playing field for SMEs with the potential to scale by providing C-Suite expertise at a fraction of the cost.
Alan Giles, CEO and Founder of the Fractional Group of Companies in the UK, introduced the AI hype cycle, noting that businesses must identify their specific needs amid the numerous AI solutions available today. Accordingly, the market is moving from “what AI can do” to “what impact can AI deliver to the bottom line”, with CFOs increasingly looking towards the ROI.
For most organizations, AI is not affecting the bottom line. But the most successful are moving from the productivity phase to the growth phase, in other words, from saving money to making money. These businesses are seeing real revenue growth in Agentic AI, which acts on insight rather than simply assisting, making it well suited for advanced process management and improving existing operations.
FEtch, the technology arm of the Fractional Execs Group, develops customized Agentic AI solutions, embracing knowledge transfer to promote sustained adoption.
Benefits:
Automates business processes: in sales, Agentic AI can research buying signals, identify leads, and prepare personalized trials. Other AI agents can support diverse functions from HR to marketing to customer experience.
Changes investors’ valuation for companies looking to exit (eg. M&A, IPO). Buyers see forward-thinking leadership and economic gains.
Allows SMEs to decouple revenue from headcount by enabling non-linear scalability, where well-trained AI can support team efficiency.
Customized per organization: integrates with existing processes/CRMs and receives continuous adjustment as needed.
In the FEtch Conversion Engine, AI Agents work closely together from prospecting to engagement to sales handoff intelligence, providing teams with the necessary insights to close deals.
Other FEtch offerings include:
Business Health Check: a due diligence-based assessment and dashboard offering a high-level overview for decision-makers, helping prepare SMEs for investor funding.
Business Insights: a consistent dashboard using CRM data for use across functions.
