In Canada and beyond.
2nd-5th of June, 2022.
This weekend the UK and the Commonwealth will celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee marking 70 years on the throne.
As a child growing up in the disruption of the Second World War, my late Mother was fascinated by the young Princess Elizabeth. Her service in the ATS and early duties of State were an inspiration to my Mother and millions of other children who heard Elizabeth’s broadcast in 1940 affirming “we are trying to do all we can to help our gallant sailors, soldiers, and airmen, and we are trying, too, to bear our own share of the danger and sadness of war.” said Martin Buckle, EVP of the BCCTC.
Since her accession to the Throne, Her Majesty’s unwavering devotion to duty and service have been an enduring feature through every turbulent period of British Commonwealth history. Did you know that there have been 14 different Prime Ministers of the UK since the Coronation? Listed Corporations are often criticised for being too focused on quarterly results and losing sight of the “Big Picture”, durability and business sustainability -perhaps it’s time to adopt a 70 year strategic horizon.
We invite you to join in the celebrations throughout Canada, we have prepared some ideas for you to celebrate with your friends and family, from hosting your own celebration at home with the official pudding of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee - the Lemon & Swiss Amaretti Triffle, to raising a toast with Diageo's Pimm’s Jubilee Spritz!
