To celebrate and inspire women in Canada, the BCCTC launched the ‘Woman of the Day’ Campaign (WoD) on February 25th, 2017, as part of BCCTC’s Women in Business event.
The campaign profiles a variety of women, from entrepreneurs to those established on the corporate ladder. The aim is to demonstrate the huge amount that women have achieved in Canada so far, to feel proud and to encourage women to be unstoppable.
Their interviews also provide an insight into the issues they have faced and their opinions on issues that women still face in business in 21st Century Canada.

What advice do you have for others in business, particularly women?
I must say, I do not have a magic formula, but I honestly believe, there are no limits for one´s effort.
I admire certain specific virtues of outstanding women, and have tried to develop them myself...and of course, am still working on that.
However, I have another ingredient in mind:
As per the Merriam Webster dictionary, the definition of diligence is: steady, earnest, and energetic effort: devoted and painstaking work and application to accomplish an undertaking...
Sometimes we may lack the appropriate knowledge, or the experience needed for a specific assignment, but if we combine effort plus diligence, we can achieve and excel at anything!
In addition to this, I recently read an article on the 3 Skills that women innately have, and why they matter in business. My humble advice, let´s use and sharpen our innate women skills!
Building relationships, deeper sense of ownership, a tendency towards nurturing, being detail-oriented, sense of order and urgency, etc.
"While women may still be outnumbered in the business world, we are advancing quickly. And its because we have natural skills that make us exceptional business leaders". 3 Skills that women innately have.
Join us on March 7th:
Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.
