This weekend, the UK hosts the Group of 7, the only forum where the world’s most influential and open societies and advanced economies are brought together for close-knit discussions. PM Boris Johnson priority is “build back better after Covid”. G7 summitorganizers aim for this to be the the first carbon-neutral G7 summit and PM Johnson is expected to urge other leaders to join the UK in setting the target of reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050*. * "The G7 circus has rolled into town—here’s what to expect". Alongside its prominence in the G7 calendar, the Business 7 (B7) Summit, led by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), is a key milestone in the build up to COP26, galvanizing business ambition and showcasing breakthroughs in the climate and nature space and an opportunity to deliver on a number of key climate objectives. The UK is hosting the UN COP26 Climate Change conference in Glasgow in November 2021.
